Bee Bunka
The Bee Bunka is a secure, eco-friendly beekeeping structure designed to house and protect bee colonies, particularly in regions prone to theft, vandalism.

Honey
A Bee Bunka hive from Beegin.co.za – made from lightweight, durable concrete in the Langstroth style – can produce 15 to 20 kg of honey per super per year under normal conditions, starting from year two.
What to Expect
Year 1: Lower honey yield while the bees build comb and settle in.
Year 2 and onwards: Expect around 15–20 kg per super each year with a healthy colony.
In ideal conditions: Strong colonies with good forage and mild weather can yield up to 20 kg per super annually.
Frame Breakdown: Each super holds 10 frames. A full, capped frame typically contains 1 to 1.2 kg of honey. Designed for South African conditions, Bee Bunka hives offer reliable, sustainable honey production with the right care and environment.
Raw, unprocessed honey, from your own hive. Harvesting honey from your backyard beehive is good for your health, your garden, the planet, and your peace of mind.
Bottom line: Your own honey is cleaner, greener, and more rewarding, it’s not just honey, it’s an experience.
How it works
We’ll monitor when it’s responsible to harvest some raw honey and let you know when it’s time. When that moment comes, we’ll ask you to provide a jar, container, or whatever you prefer to store it in. Honey doesn’t spoil, but if you’d like, you can also freeze it to store it for as long as you want.
